Who we are

SalonX (salonx.ai) is a UK platform connecting professional hair and beauty suppliers, salons, stylists and their clients. This policy explains how personal data is used when you shop through SalonX, receive messages from your salon via SalonX, or hold a SalonX account. Contact: privacy@salonx.ai.

What we collect and why

When you place an order: your name, contact details, delivery address and order contents — used to process payment, deliver your order, send your receipt and despatch updates, and meet legal record-keeping duties (legal basis: performance of a contract, legal obligation). Your order details are shared with the supplier fulfilling your order and with our payment provider, Stripe. SalonX never sees or stores your card number.

When your salon captures your details: your salon may record your name, mobile number, email and product recommendations to send you follow-ups and refill reminders. For that data, your salon is the data controller and SalonX processes it on the salon's behalf. Marketing messages are only sent where consent has been recorded, every message identifies the salon and includes an opt-out, and you can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP or contacting the salon.

When you hold a SalonX account (salon owners, stylists, suppliers): your name, contact details, login credentials and activity on the platform — used to operate your account, calculate and pay commission, and keep the platform secure (legal basis: contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation).

Who we share data with

Service providers who help us run the platform: Stripe (payments and payouts), Vercel and Neon (hosting and database, with UK/EU data residency preferred), Resend (email delivery), our SMS provider (text delivery), and the supplier fulfilling your order. Each acts under contract and only on our instructions. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share client contact details between salons or with other suppliers.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records are kept for 7 years to meet tax and accounting duties. Marketing consent records are kept while the consent stands, plus a record of its withdrawal. Account data is kept while the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, and receive a portable copy. Email privacy@salonx.ai and we will respond within one month. Where your salon is the controller (its client list), we will pass your request to the salon and assist them in honouring it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

SalonX uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and keep your basket working, and a first-party attribution cookie so your salon is credited for purchases made through its links. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
