Your cancellation policy — and charging it
Write it in plain words; decide whether late cancels and no-shows are charged to the saved card.
The policy itself
Settings → Booking → Cancellation policy. Paste yours in plain words — it shows on the booking page and clients tick to agree before they pay. Something like: *Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the deposit. No-shows are charged in full. Life happens — call us and we'll try to rearrange.*
Charging it
Charging your cancellation policy lets you charge the card the client paid their deposit with:
- Late cancellations — inside the number of hours you set, a percentage of the service price.
- No-shows — a percentage of the service price (100% if you want).
The deposit already taken is netted off, so nobody pays twice. You choose at the moment you cancel or mark the no-show — it's never automatic.
Self-serve window
If clients can move and cancel their own bookings, the window you give them can't be shorter than your late-cancel window — otherwise they could cancel for free inside it. SalonX keeps the two in step.
