Tap to Pay on iPhone

Tap to Pay turns your iPhone into the card machine. The client taps their card, phone or watch on the back of your phone.

What you need

• The SalonX app on an iPhone XS or newer, running a recent iOS.
• Stripe connected. Set it up in the SalonX app the first time you choose Tap to Pay at the till — Apple asks you to accept their terms.

Taking a payment

At the till choose Tap to Pay, hold the phone out, and the client taps. The payment lands in your Stripe account like any other card payment, at the same cost.

If it won't start

• Make sure the phone has a signal — the terms and the first connection need the internet.
• Bluetooth and location need to be allowed for the SalonX app.
• Android isn't supported by Apple's Tap to Pay; use the on-screen card sheet instead.
